Twokin Consulting: Using EOS to supercharge a nonprofit’s success
The Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is a set of tools and processes designed to help an organization to run and grow more effectively. Twokin Consulting as used it to create a strong foundation for several organizations. It is based on the book Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business, written by Gino Wickman, which provides a detailed explanation of the system and how it can be implemented in an organization.
In the introduction of the book (pp. xiii – xiv), Gino Wichman asks where you, as a leader, are you having the following frustrations:
Lack of control: you don't have enough control over your time, the market, or your company. Instead of controlling the business, the business is controlling you.
People: You're frustrated with your employees, customers, venter, or partners. They don't seem to listen, understand you, or follow through with their actions. You're not all on the same page.
Profit: Simply put, there's not enough
The ceiling: Your growth has stopped. No matter what you do, you can't seem to break through and get to the next level. You feel overwhelmed and unsure what to do next.
Nothing's working: You've tried various strategies and quick-fix remedies. None have worked for long and as a result, your staff has become disengaged for new initiatives. You're spinning your wheels and need traction to move again.
While the book is written from a business perspective, Twokin Consulting has found the methodology and tools to be equally effective for a nonprofit organization.
EOS is a comprehensive system that helps leaders to align their team, focus on the most important priorities, and achieve their goals. It is based on a set of simple, practical, and easy-to-use tools that are organized into a comprehensive system, divided into six key components:
Vision: A clear and compelling statement of where your organization is headed, and what it hopes to achieve.
People: A clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each team member, and how they contribute to your organization's success.
Data: A set of key performance indicators that help your organization to track its progress, and make data-driven decisions.
Issues: A process for identifying, discussing, and resolving problems that arise within your organization.
Process: A set of clear, repeatable, and measurable processes that help your organization to operate more efficiently and effectively.
Traction: A set of tools and techniques that help your organization to execute on its vision, and achieve its goals.
Implementing EOS can help your organization to clarify their vision, align their team, and achieve their goals more effectively.
